Reyes families who operate from Navarette located close to the city of Santiago which is the capital of the Dominican Republic are the people behind the successful brand of Augusto Reyes. First they started the cigar business with the Fittipaldi brand which was licensed by the legendary Emerson Fittipaldi. Later they diversified there business and started importing tobacco and supplying the factories that needed them. This time they have come up again with the new brand of Augusto Reyes.All the tobacco for Augusto Reyes cigars are produced and cured in the Dominican Republic except for the Ecuadorian wrapper imported for the Criollo line. The Pilotto Cubano tobacco and Criollo 98 are blended using Corojo leaves. These Corojo leaves are harvested from farms that grow these tobaccos with original seeds brought from Cuba. For the Ciollo they bring the Ecudorian Connecticut wrapper from Ecuador. These wrappers are light in color and lighter with body and are rich in flavor to impart the right flavor to the Augusto Reyes cigars.The makers of Augusto Reyes cigars make 20 million cigars a year but they are still not able to supply the demand. This is good testimony for the quality of these quality cigars manufactured by a traditional cigar making family. These natural cigars are medium to full bodied ones and are having creamy and nutty flavors. They are consistent in quality due to the fact that a lot of their tobacco is grown harvested and cured under the supervision of their suppliers who are closely monitored by the factory. As a result they get the tobacco of exactly the quality they look for. These Dominican wrappers are outstanding on quality. Augusto Reyes cigars with Corojo wrappers are medium strength cigars while the ones with Connecticut wrapper are a bit lighter.These Augusto Reyes cigars are available in Churchill, Robusto, Toro, Torpedo, Lancero and Gordo sizes.
